Get an Affordable Online MIAM Certificate – Court Approved and Fast
What is a MIAM and why do you need one?
If you are going through a separation and need to apply to the family court – for example, using a C100 form MIAM – you must first attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM). This is a legal requirement in England and Wales before most family court applications.
At Family Mediation Services, we make it simple and affordable. You can book an online MIAM certificate appointment today from just £85. Our accredited mediator meets with you online or by telephone – whichever suits you best.
We issue your court-approved MIAM certificate by email within 24–48 hours of your appointment which means you get what you need quickly and without the stress.

What happens during your MIAM appointment?
To begin with, your MIAM appointment is a one-to-one meeting with our accredited mediator. It is private and confidential. Importantly, you do not attend with the other person.
During the meeting, we explain what mediation is, whether it might help in your situation, and what your next steps could be. We then assess whether mediation is suitable.
After your MIAM, we contact the other side and give them 14 days to engage with the process. If they do not respond or decline, we issue your court-approved MIAM certificate straight away. You can then proceed with your MIAM family court application, including submitting a C100 form if needed.
| Did you know? You cannot submit a C100 form to the family court without a MIAM certificate. Family Mediation Services helps you get yours quickly and at an affordable cost. |
Legal Aid and the Government Voucher Scheme
Cost should not be a barrier to accessing the family court. That is why Family Mediation Services offers Legal Aid for those who qualify and if you are eligible then your MIAM and mediation sessions may be completely free of charge.
In addition, we also work with the Government Voucher Scheme, which provides up to £500 towards the cost of mediation for eligible families. Our team can guide you through the eligibility criteria and application process.
Not sure if you qualify? Contact us and we will check for you at no cost.
MIAM and the family court – what you need to know
The MIAM family court requirement exists to encourage separating couples to explore mediation before going to court. Research shows that mediation leads to better outcomes for families – especially when children are involved.
Family Mediation Services supports both couples with and without children. Whether your dispute involves child arrangements, finances, or property, we can help you complete your MIAM and – if appropriate – move into full mediation.
Above all, our accredited mediator is trained to handle sensitive situations with care and impartiality.
